Retrievers are one of the most intelligent and sociable dog breeds. They make loyal and easily trainable pets and they interact well with children and people in general. They are high energy dogs, who love attention and human companionship. They make excellent hunting dogs as well, since they have just the right combination of natural instincts and intelligence that you want in a hunting dog.

Obedience is the heart of all of our training programs. Regular exercise and a regimented training program are the secrets of our success. A dog with adequate intelligence and physical attributes can be trained and conditioned to perform well.

There are behavioral issues that can occur with any dog. Good obedience and proper leadership are your first tools in addressing any behavior issue. Patience and fair teaching as a handler are also important. Remember retrievers are high energy dogs, so that energy needs to be channeled constructively. Our goal is create a program that is tailored to your dogs specific needs and to your expectations. Basic obedience allows your dog to become a "good citizen". Remaining in control in varying situations is a must for both family pets and hunting dogs.
