The following course is designed for
those who are serious about developing a working relationship with
their hunting dog. This training is focused for waterfowl hunters
but the same fundamentals carry through for upland hunting as well.
Having a retriever under control during a hunting situation is a
pleasure for you and your hunting partners.
This course is a learning experience
for both you and your dog.
The syllabus listed starts off with
basic obedience and progresses through advanced gun dog techniques.
There will be hands on demonstrations and trainer guidance with
your own dog. A review will be conducted at the beginning of each
class. This is not a one or two day training seminar. We encourage
new handlers to take the entire course to follow the step by step
build up of their dog’s abilities and their own. Home work
will be required. You will have to practice the techniques taught
with your own dog between classes. Those that have experienced
dogs are welcome to join the classes later at their dog’s
skill level.

The enrollment fee for each class is $35. To enroll for the entire
12 day program is $350. Limited space is available due to the
amount of time that must be spent with each dog and handler. Contact
Wetland Retrievers for enrollment and more information. One on one training is available between classes. Please call to schedule a time.
Come join the fun. Meet others who
are interested in the same sport. This is a great networking opportunity.
Meet people living near you that may be interested in developing
a training group. For those that are interested, entry into an
official hunt test is available.
